Is there a fee to enter?
No. All entries are free and must be received by Friday 1 February 2019.
Is there a limit to how many entries you can submit?
There is no limit on the number of entries that can be submitted.
Who can enter?
This is dependent on the category, as listed below:
- Patient’s Choice Award
Entries for this category are only accepted from patients and members of the public. Entries from nurses or colleagues of nurses will not be accepted. Nominees do not need to be a member of the Royal College of Nursing.
- Healthcare Assistant Award
Entries for this category are accepted from individual healthcare assistants and assistant practitioners. Healthcare assistants and assistant practitioners can also be nominated by colleagues such as nurses, managers or consultants. Team entries are accepted for this category. Entrants do not need to be a member of the Royal College of Nursing.
- Excellence in Cancer Research Award
Entrants are accepted from nurses who work on clinical trials in cancer, who are entering as or on behalf of a clinical research nurse, or work as part of a research team that includes clinical research nurses. Entrants do not need to be a member of the Royal College of Nursing.
- All other categories:
Entries are accepted from nurses nominating themselves or their own teams or can be submitted on behalf of another nurse or nursing team. Non-nursing colleagues such as managers or consultants may also nominate their nursing colleagues. Entrants do not need to be a member of the Royal College of Nursing.
What is the entry deadline?
All entries must be received via the RCNi Nurse Awards website by Friday 1 February 2019.
When will I know whether my entry has been short-listed?
Judging takes place throughout March, April and May. All entrants, whether shortlisted or not, will be notified via email to confirm whether their entry has been successful. If applicable the entrant’s nominator will also be notified via email at the same time.
I registered my interest in the Awards before entries were open – how do I claim my entry extension?
If you registered your interest in the 2019 Awards before entry opening, we will email you details on how to claim your extension to the deadline in December 2018. If you have not received an email from us by January 2019 please get in contact.
Will I get feedback on my entry?
Our judges kindly give up their time to judge the awards voluntarily and due to the high number of entries received individual feedback on each entry is not possible.
When will I find out if my entry has won?
The winner will be announced at the RCNi Nurse Awards 2019 on Wednesday 3 July 2019 at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, London. Winners are not notified before the awards ceremony.
How do I buy tickets for the awards ceremony?
One finalist per entry will receive a complimentary ticket to the awards ceremony and will have their travel expenses reimbursed. All other tickets must be purchased online. You can pay for your booking online via card payment, or upon invoice by requesting the invoice option. Please note that full payment for your table booking must be received before the awards ceremony.
What are the timings for the evening?
Expected timings for the awards ceremony are listed below. You will also receive confirmation of the timings and other important information regarding the awards via email when you book your table or place.

|7pm - Awards dinner|
|9pm - Awards commence|
|10pm - After party|
|12am - Carriages|
What is the dress code for the awards?
When will I receive my invitations?
Invitations will be sent to guests via email in May 2019.
Who do I notify if one of my guests has special dietary requirements?
A form will be included with the invitations requesting whether we need to be aware of any special requirements. Simply complete and return to the registration contact as detailed on the form. This form must be returned to us by Friday 7 June 2019, otherwise charges may apply and guests’ requirements may not be met.
What is your table cancellation policy?
Once confirmed you cannot cancel your table booking. If you can no longer attend please contact us via email before the event at Katie.firstname.lastname@example.org
