RCNi launches e-learning platform for nurses

RCNi has launched an e-learning platform with more than 100 modules to support nurses through their studies, continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation.

RCNi LearningThe interactive online resource, called RCNi Learning, launched today with 135 modules covering 43 topics, including communication, cancer, acute care, wound care and mental health. A further 50 modules will be released in the coming weeks.

The modules, which will help nurses and nursing students to bridge the gap between theory and practice, are evidence-based and peer-reviewed.

The resource includes videos, images, case studies, tests with rationales for correct and incorrect answers, and time-out exercises. It is also optimised for using on mobile devices.

It is fully integrated with the RCNi Portfolio, so certificates from RCNi Learning modules can be saved in the portfolio and used as evidence for revalidation.

Rachel Armitage, managing director of RCNi, which publishes Nursing Standard, said: ‘It is interactive, with features and functionality that engage the user and facilitate high quality learning experiences.’

RCNi LearningThe platform, which is available to individual nurses, students, healthcare institutions, universities and other learning organisations, has been accredited by the RCN through a rigorous quality assessment process.

It can be used to prepare nursing students for clinical practice and to supplement curriculum learning.
