Online guide on multiple sclerosis treatments to aid patient-nurse discussions

MS Trust has provided patients with multiple sclerosis with an online tool to help them discuss treatments with healthcare professionals

The MS Trust has updated an online guide for multiple sclerosis patients to give them information about symptoms and treatment options and to aid them in their discussions with nurses and other health professionals.

The MS Decisions section of the charity’s website now has a section on all 11 drugs approved for use in the NHS.

There is an interactive tool for patients to filter, compare and select different drugs.

Almost nine in ten patients in a recent MS Trust survey said they would welcome access to tools to help them understand their treatment options.

Amy Bowen, director of service development at the MS Trust, says: ‘We are rapidly entering a new era in MS care, and, with tools like MS Decisions, the MS Trust is helping to lay the foundations.

'By helping people with MS become better informed about their options and have better discussions with their health professionals, we can make a real difference to their long term health.’
