Nurse staffing agency signs up to use RCNi Portfolio and its revalidation tools

Staffing agency Medacs Healthcare has signed a three-year agreement for access to the RCNi Portfolio. The deal means its staff can use the online resource to support their revalidation and acquire new skills through training.

The website helps nurses to build a body of evidence for revalidation, including reflective accounts, a log of their practice hours and proof of training and education activities completed.

The portfolio also includes e-learning resources to support continuing professional development.

Revalidation is the new system for nurses to renew their registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) every three years.

The NMC’s council will be making a decision next month on how to proceed with revalidation.

Medacs Healthcare provides locum, temporary and permanent healthcare staff to both the NHS and the independent sector.

The company’s operations director Trish Davison said: ‘To make revalidation every three years as smooth as possible for our agency nursing staff, we wanted to find a resource that was comprehensive, easy to use and above all would help to streamline the revalidation process.

‘The RCNi portfolio met all our criteria and we are looking forward to rolling out the solution to our nursing professionals.’

Rachel Armitage, RCNi managing director, said that using the RCNi portfolio would enable nurses to ‘remain focused on providing excellent care at the same time as keeping their skills and knowledge as up to date as possible’.
