The chemotherapy outpatient nurse at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth is raising money to expand the hospital’s chemotherapy unit, where she works.

As she only owns one Dalmatian, Ms Lucas has taken to social media to recruit 100 more distinctive spotted dogs – and their owners – for the 3.6 mile walk around a reservoir.

Ms Lucas has 22 dogs signed up so far and is determined to find the remaining 79 before the event on July 3.

She said: 'It would be lovely if each owner could obtain sponsorship to this worthy cause or make a donation on the day.

‘Our cancer patients deserve the very best and in Plymouth we are respected for delivering some of the best treatments available.’
