NMC looks to recruit nurse to represent Wales

Successful candidate will help shape future of nursing

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is seeking a nurse who lives or works in Wales to represent the country on its governing body.

The council, the NMC’s board of trustees, meets approximately six times a year in public to agree its standards and strategic direction.

The NMC is made up of six registrants and six lay members and must include representation from all four countries of the UK.

NMC chair Dame Janet Finch, said: ‘This is an exciting time to join the NMC. Revalidation is being successfully rolled out, and we are embarking on a major programme to define the nurse of the future as the basis for revising our standards for education.

‘As a member of the council you will contribute to this important public protection agenda while overseeing a significant business transformation. Our key ambition is to become a leading and dynamic regulator.

‘As a member of our council you will play a crucial role in making that ambition a reality.’

Applications are open until noon on March 21.
