NMC asks registrants: are you 'revalidation ready'?

The Nursing and Midwifery Council is sending postcards and emails to all its registrants with tips on how to prepare for the new revalidation system.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council is asking nurses and midwives if they are ‘revalidation ready’ and sending them a postcard with some simple prompts on it.

The regulator is preparing the workforce for the new system all nurses and midwives will have to undertake every three years to renew their NMC registration.

The NMC’s council will decide in October on how to proceed with revalidation.

The ‘are you revalidation ready?’ postcard lists the three most important things for registrants to do now – set up an NMC Online account; find out their registration renewal date; and familiarise themselves with the provisional revalidation guidance.

Email versions of the postcard are being sent to registrants who already have an online account.

Revalidation will be done entirely online, so all registrants will need an NMC Online account.
