How to use our websites
More relevant, more engaging, more incisive, more accessible... the websites for Nursing Standard and RCNi’s range of journals for specialist nurses are here to support you through every stage of your nursing career.
We've been busy behind the scenes talking to as many of you as we can about great new ways to provide the information and help you need.
We passionately care about nursing and our readers and are delighted to launch these sites along with a fresh look for our print journals.
Six ways your websites have improved
A change for the better
If you are a regular visitor to rcni.com, you will notice that some sections have been moved or changed.
- The Clinical, CPD and Topics sections now sit under Evidence & Practice on each journal website
- Workplace articles now sit in Careers
- Students have a dedicated section on Nursing Standard
- Our forum hubs can be found from each journal website main navigation

More relevant
We have changed the title of our clinical section from Art & Science to Evidence & Practice. The peer-revewed articles in that section provide information to help update your practice and ensure it remains evidence based. We also have a 'How to...' archive of articles that aim to enhance your clinical and non-clinical skills.
All our articles have been re-focused with you in mind, so you can stay up to date with the latest developments in practice, policy and guidance.
See at a glance what each one is about and how it is relevant to your day-to-day practice. Clear action points will help you apply what you have read to your practice, with useful links to find out more on each subject.
More support
We've introduced new content in many of our journals including
• Revalidation – greater support for meeting your requirements through CPD and reflective writing
• Students - Advice on clinical placements, mentorship, reflective practice, study skills, and so much more to see students through their education and training
• Policy briefings - Clarification, expert comment and implications for practice to keep you ahead of the game when it comes to the latest policy changes
More incisive
Insights into nursing, from nurse leaders to those on the front line, with greater emphasis on supporting evidence and implications for practice.
More engaging
Infographics and fast facts will help you find and digest key information more quickly. If you are a subscriber you have access to our archives of clinical and CPD content, as well as our events calendar, our forums, and the products you already know and love, like the RCNi Portfolio to help with revalidation.
More accessible
The websites have been designed to work perfectly on your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. This means you can access your favourite articles or update your RCNi Portfolio any time, anywhere. Our new websites feature a cleaner look and section headings that match those found in our printed journals. This makes it easier for you to navigate and find exactly what you need. There's also a growing library of resources ready to come your way, including videos and podcasts, which will enable you to develop your understanding of a particular topic or issue.
We hope you enjoy your experience of using our new websites. We’d love to hear your feedback. You can get in touch with us via the forum Hub or by sending an email to feedback@rcni.com
