Ex-nurse is appointed head of the Royal College of Physicians
Ian Bullock is named Royal College of Physicians chief executive
Former nurse Ian Bullock has been named chief executive of the Royal College of Physicians.
He joined the staff of the RCP in 2009, leading the merger of four acute guideline centres. Before becoming interim chief executive last year, he was executive director of the college's care quality improvement department.
Mr Bullock studied at the Windsor School of Nursing and began his career at Wexham Park Hospital near Slough.
RCP president Jane Dacre said: ‘With a strong determination to improve outcomes for patients as well as a wide range of useful and practical knowledge of the healthcare landscape, his appointment will be of great benefit to the RCP.'
