Police have released new CCTV images of a missing nursing student as they issue a fresh appeal for information on her whereabouts.

New footage shows missing nursing student walking towards Norbury

Owami Davies of Grays, Essex, left her family home on Monday 4 July and was last seen on Thursday 7 July.

New CCTV images released as part of a police investigation into her disappearance show her walking north on London Road in Croydon at about 12.30pm. It is currently the last known recorded image of Ms Davies.

She was wearing a dark jacket, red t-shirt, light grey joggers, slider-type shoes and she was carrying a white handbag over her shoulder.

Detective chief inspector Nigel Penney, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘This latest CCTV footage shows Owami wearing a distinctive red top and heading towards the Norbury area.

‘I would ask members of the public who were in this area, or on nearby roads, to think back and call us if they remember seeing Owami. Please do not underestimate how important your call could be.’

Five men have been arrested in connection with her disappearance – two on suspicion of murder and three of suspected kidnap. All have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Appeal for driver of white van in CCTV images to contact police

Previous CCTV images showed Ms Davies in a shop and on Derby Road in west Croydon in the company of a man in the early hours of 7 July. Police have appealed to the driver of a white van that was parked in Derby Road to come forward, as they may have seen Ms Davies as she crossed the street.

A second unconfirmed sighting has also been reported on the same day, at around 7am on Clarendon Road, west Croydon.

Ms Davies was nearing the end of her studies and had secured a job with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, her mother Nicol Davies told the Press Association news agency.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference 22MIS025307, or to contact the Missing People charity in confidence by calling or texting 116 000.

Information can also be given to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
