Are you a nurse looking to gain post-registration qualifications but are unable to fund them?

Or maybe you’re a nursing associate or healthcare support worker hoping to develop your career?

The RCN Foundation has announced the start of the application process for its 2025 education grants, which are up to £1,600 for professional training and postgraduate qualifications, and up to £2,500 to undertake undergraduate study.

RCN Foundation funding covers study beginning in 2025

The grants, for nursing and midwifery professionals, students and healthcare support workers, are open to individuals beginning their studies at any time in 2025. Last year, the charity supported 110 people through their professional development and training, providing education grants totalling £163,000.

Grant applications are open until 5pm on 18 October, and candidates do not need to be a member of the RCN to receive support.

Learning and development will ‘improve the care given to patients’

RCN Foundation director Deepa Korea said: ‘The foundation is proud to continue to invest in the future of nursing and midwifery through our education grants. These support professionals who wish to undertake learning and development activities to enhance their careers, and in turn improve the care they give to their patients.

‘Whether you are a nurse, midwife, nursing associate, maternity assistant, healthcare support worker or nursing student, I encourage you to take the time to see what funding we have available.’
