Jan Thulborn Senior communication co-ordinator, Community Learning Disabilities Team, Peterborough

Jan Thulborn reports on how communication co-ordinators are playing their part in a fundamental overhaul of speech and language therapy services in East Anglia

Historically people with learning disabilities have been unable to lead the development of their services because some of them cannot communicate their thoughts, needs and wishes. To embrace the philosophy and targets set out in the Valuing People White Paper we must listen to each other and act on what we hear.
