Neil James reviews what people who care for relatives with intellectual disabilities say about the support they receive from practitioners

This article presents the findings of a literature review of research into the relationships between family carers of people with intellectual disabilities and professionals. The review reports on what family carers themselves have said about these relationships, what they want from professionals and how their relationships can be improved.
