Excellence in Cancer Research Award

This award recognises individual cancer research nurses or research teams who are involved in clinical trials research to discover new ways to prevent, diagnose or treat cancer and improve patient outcomes. The award is sponsored by Cancer Research UK.

Who can enter?

This category is only open to either those entering as or on behalf of a) a clinical research nurse working on cancer trials, or b) part of a cancer trial research team that includes clinical research nurses.

How to enter: Entries must be submitted online via the ‘enter now’ button. We highly recommend you write the body of your entry in a word document and then cut and paste it into the online entry form to prevent work being lost.

If this entry is a team entry (either your own or another team) please list the full names and job titles of each team member and how they have each contributed to the entry.
(If you do not know the individual details of all team members or if the entry is concerning a team larger than 5 people, please only list the key contributors.)
For example:

  1. How innovative was the entrant in delivering clinical research, setting up/leading an initiative or overcoming challenges?                                                               
  2. How instrumental was the entrant in delivering the clinical research (i.e. protocol development, patient recruitment, patient care or trial management) or in setting up and leading an initiative to raise awareness of clinical research or improve the patient experience?                                          
  3. Consider the level of obstacles the entrant overcame in delivering the clinical research or initiative
  4. Consider the impact the clinical research or initiative has had on improving the patient experience, patient outcomes, treatment discovery or nursing practice
  5. What level of evaluation has been undertaken/ is planned?
  6. To what extent has the entrant disseminated / plans to disseminate their findings or knowledge?
