Face masks, tea towels and T-shirts with an attractive white rose design are on sale via the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) to support nurses and midwives through the annual White Rose Appeal, which aims to raise £100,000.

So far this year £62,000 has been raised, and some of it has gone to the Nightingale Frontline: Leadership Support Service to provide emotional and well-being support to nurses and midwives working on the front line during the pandemic.

All the appeal's products are priced between £9.99 and £20 and include aprons, greeting cards, tote bags, mugs and a baby onesie.

Money raised will go towards supporting nurses and helping to develop their skills

FNF chief executive officer Greta Westwood said: ‘Our Florence Nightingale White Rose Appeal has gone from strength to strength since it was launched in July on the bicentenary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, and all money raised through the sale of charity masks and other memorabilia will support the work we do.’

The service provides specialists to help nurses and midwives develop skills to support each other, and to date it has helped 1,500 people.

Further allocations of funds will go to the foundation’s leadership programmes and scholarships.

The appeal is run by FNF in conjunction with Kindred, the organisation behind the Rainbow T-Shirt campaign for the NHS over the summer.
