New CCTV images of missing nursing student as fourth man arrested

Police release images of Owami Davies on the night she disappeared and appeal to the driver of a white van they say could help with their investigation

Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with the disappearance of a missing nursing student.

Further images have been released of Owami Davies on the night she disappeared as police appeal to the driver of a white van they believe could help with their investigation.

Nursing student Owami Davies was last seen on 7 July

Ms Davies of Grays, Essex, left her family home on 4 July and was last seen at midnight in Derby Road, West Croydon, on 7 July.

Two men were arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder in the Croydon area and remain in custody at a south London police station.

A third man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday at an address in South Croydon and remains in police custody. A fourth man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Croydon on 3 August.

CCTV images of the night she went missing show Ms Davies in a shop and on Derby Road in the company of a man.

Police are looking for the driver of a white van that was parked in Derby Road who may have seen Ms Davies as she crossed the street.

Ms Davies went missing four weeks ago and her family have not heard from her and she has not attended work, the Metropolitan Police said.

Ms Davies’s family and the police issue urgent appeals for information

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are now leading the investigation. Police said it remains a missing person investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney said: ‘We are working hard to find Owami, but we really do need the public’s help. Owami is very vulnerable and the longer she is missing the more we worry that she has come to harm.

‘Owami’s family are living through a nightmare and are desperate for news. I would ask anyone who thinks they can help to come forward – as the days pass the anxiety of Owami’s family will only get worse and your call could be the one they are praying for.’

Ms Davies mother Nicol Davies has also issued a plea for anyone with information to come forward.

‘Owami, if you see this appeal please believe you are not in any trouble, we just want you to come back to us. Pease leave a message if you can to let us know you are okay. We are so very worried about you.’
