Celebrity speakers announced for RCN Scrap the cap London rally
Comic actors and political activists Sir Tony Robinson and Rob Delaney are to speak at the RCN’s biggest-ever rally in September.
Thousands of RCN members are expected to attend the Scrap the cap event in London, which is being held as part of the union’s summer of protest over the 1% cap on public sector pay.
Rob Delaney, a stand-up comedian, actor and writer most recently known for his Channel 4 show Catastrophe and Sir Tony, an actor, author and star of the BBC’s Blackadder and presenter of Channel 4’s Time Team, are the first speakers to be announced.
Drop-in session
RCN members have until Tuesday 29 August to register and apply for funded travel for the rally, which takes place between 12.30 and 2.30pm on Wednesday 6 September.
As the rally takes place, RCN council members will hold a drop-in session for MPs at the Houses of Parliament to find out more about the campaign and the effects of the pay cap.
