Pesticide poisoning: rodenticides

Grainne Cullen Information officer, London Centre of the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS)

Grainne Cullen outlines management and treatment plans for patients exposed to rodenticides

Rodenticides are used for the control of rats and mice. There are hundreds of rodenticide products available. As with other pesticides, there are preparations formulated for use in and around the home, which can be purchased and used by the general public. There are also preparations formulated specifically for use by professional pest control operators in agricultural or industrial situations.
