We reveal this year’s shortlist of fabulous nurses, healthcare assistants and teams
Today we reveal the finalists of the RCNi Nurse Awards 2019, which showcase innovation, talent and skill across the nursing profession.
The awards span 16 categories including emergency nursing, child health and cancer nursing, and celebrate the best of the UK’s nursing workforce.
A total of 80 finalists, including individuals and teams, are announced today. Among those to make the shortlist is a team of senior nurses, for their response to the Salisbury Novichok poisonings, and a healthcare assistant delivering vital services to commercial sex workers.
The RCN Nurse of the Year 2019 prize will also be awarded to one of the category winners in the climax of the awards ceremony, which takes place in London on 3 July.
Almost 700 people entered the RCNi Nurse Awards 2019.
Rachel Armitage, managing director at RCNi, said: ‘Nurses in all areas are increasingly under pressure but they still deliver exceptional innovation and outstanding, compassionate patient care day in, day out.
‘The RCNi Nurse Awards are a chance to recognise those achievements and showcase nursing excellence.
