Remembering nursing staff who have died with COVID-19

‘My thoughts, and the thoughts of all of her NHS family here in Glasgow, are with them at this terribly sad time.’

Filipino Nurses Association UK founding director Francis Fernando tweeted that Ms Sayson was the 57th Filipino nurse to have died from COVID-19 in the UK.

‘She looked after me as a newly qualified staff nurse’

One nurse said Ms Sayson ‘looked after me as a newly qualified staff nurse in Stobhill. Forever grateful’.

In response to Ms Sayson’s death, a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for her family.

Nursing Standard believes Ms Sayson is the 94th nurse to have died in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news of her death comes a week after Nursing Standard reported on the death of nurse Barclay Mason, who worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Harlow, Essex.
