Developing a nurse-led follow-up protocol for lung cancer

This article presents an overview of the development of a protocol to guide lung cancer multidisciplinary teams (MDT) within the Yorkshire Cancer Network in the support and follow-up of patients by lung cancer nurse specialists (LCNS). The aim of the protocol is to direct the MDT in offering additional choice to patients in the form of LCNS support and follow-up which can be by telephone, home visit or in the clinic. The protocol’s implementation and evaluation will also be discussed.
