Few of the UK’s 40,000-plus Filipino nurses are on band 8 or above – a mentorship programme targeting their specific needs aims to turn this around
A mentoring programme addressing the lack of Filipino nurses in senior leadership roles has seen almost half its participants start a new role on a higher band.
The Filipino Active Mentorship Programme (FilAMent), launched in 2021, places Filipino nurses with mentors for career advice.
Raising the profile of mentoring opportunities
Among the senior Filipino nurses who set up the group is Francis Fernando, founder of the Filipino Nurses Association UK (FNAUK) and associate director of nursing
